Camping Under The Northern Lights Tromso County Norway


The aurora borealis (northern lights) is a luminous phenomenon, which is caused when impinging charged particles of the solar wind on the Earth's atmosphere at the Earth's poles. Northern Lights whose scientific name "Aurora Borealis" is are to observe mostly north 60° north latitude and south of 60° south latitude.

The midnight sun is another fascinating natural phenomenon that one can experience in Norway. In summer the sun rises just not. Weather permitting you to do so in northern Norway can enjoy the possibility the sun for up to 24 hours at a stretch.

How many weeks or even months, the midnight sun can be seen, depends on how far you are in the north. At the Arctic Circle, the sun is seen between June 12 and July 1. At Nordkapp it is even from 14 May to 29 July throughout the horizon. At the North Pole the sun does not set for six months.
